LNHS campus journs reap 6 awards
Campus Journalists of Labogon National
High School won 6 awards in the Division
Schools Press Conference (DSPC) last
October 9-10, 2015 at Mandaue City Central
School with the theme “Empowering
Resilient Communities Through Campus
Journalism.”
The winners were : Benna Lyn Rizon, 1st place, Feature Writing in English; Andriana Gaya Barbas, 1st place, Sports Writing in Filipino; Ria Jane Lumbab, 2nd place, Copyreading and Headline Writing in Filipino; Kristine Joy Bayon-on, 5th place, Copyreading and Headline Writing in English; NiƱa Vi Bote, 7th place , Feature Writing in Filipino.
“I am happy knowing that all of our efforts has finally come to its best fruit,” Benna Lyn Rizon, one of the winners said.
LNHS Journalists received three medals and three certificates.
DSPC was joined with 24 schools both public and private. Professional journalists in the academe and media practitioners were served as the resource speakers and judges.
“Strive hard and be determined enough to face the battle,” Rizon added.
The winners in DSPC will put to a test for this upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) that will be held in Bogo City, December 8-10, 2015.
“More practice for the upcoming RSPC 2015,” Dorothy C. Seno, School Paper Adviser (SPA) said.
This year’s RSPC will focus on the theme “The Role of 21st Century Journalist in Upholding Good Governance of Leadership and Transparency.” (Jomabel Manigos)
